Year 4
The Year 4 team consists of three teachers :
- Mrs Carey
- Mr Hodgkins
- Mrs Farrar-Williams
Who are assisted by Mrs Clark, Mrs Martin and Mrs Rose and Miss White. The Year 4 team is led by Mrs Lewis.
Our Year 4 team have very high expectations and are devoted to helping pupils achieve! We endeavour to create a stimulating and inspiring learning environment to enable children to succeed. We strive to create an atmosphere where the children feel comfortable in accepting challenges and taking risks through an exciting and engaging approach. It is also our aim to reinforce the importance and application of our school values and our South End Signature.

I now know that the medicine used to put people to sleep or numb an area of the body are called anesthetics.

Before we studied potions, I didn't know about the changes between solids, liquids and gases. I also know about viscosity and that is about the thickness of a liquid.

You can make your own exploding volcano using a bottle, washing up liquid, baking soda and vinegar.

When you eat food, you chew it and swallow it. Then it goes down the oesophagus and into the stomach where acid breaks it up. From there it goes through the large and small intestines.

I now know that there are four types of teeth: molars, premolars, canines and incisors. Some of the molars are also wisdom teeth.

The large and small intestines are like long tubes and they break the food down and take away the waste so the body gets to good stuff.
